Watch the Knicks Championship Parade Live

The New York Knicks march up the Canyon of Heroes on Thursday, June 18, 2026 โ€” their first NBA title in 53 years, celebrated with a ticker-tape parade up Broadway from The Battery to City Hall. We built a live camera route along the entire path so you can watch the procession block by block, even if you can't make it downtown.

Event: Knicks 2026 NBA Championship Parade  |  Date: Thursday, June 18, 2026  |  Start time: 10:00 AM ET  |  Start: Bowling Green / The Battery (Broadway)  |  End: City Hall (Broadway & Chambers Street)  |  Route: Broadway north through the Canyon of Heroes (~1.1 miles)  |  Finale: Key to the City ceremony at City Hall Plaza

The Knicks clinched the 2026 NBA Finals over the San Antonio Spurs and the city responded with a ticker-tape parade up the Canyon of Heroes โ€” the stretch of Lower Broadway honored by more than 200 black granite sidewalk plaques marking every parade in the city's history. Mayor Zohran Mamdani said the celebration "may well be the largest parade in New York City history." For everyone who can't stand on Broadway in person, our live route bundles the NYCDOT and 511NY street cameras sitting directly on the parade path into one screen.

Watch the Parade Up the Canyon of Heroes

The route is short and dense โ€” roughly 1.1 miles straight up Broadway โ€” and Lower Manhattan is one of the most heavily camera-covered districts in the country. The cameras below sit on Broadway itself and on the cross streets where the crowd spills over.

The Parade Route, Block by Block

The Knicks follow the traditional ticker-tape path: north up Broadway from the foot of the island to the steps of City Hall. The granite plaques underfoot trace the same line every champion has walked, from the Mets after the 1969 World Series to the Giants after their 2012 Super Bowl win.

Canyon of Heroes โ€” South to North

  • Bowling Green — Broadway at Battery Place โ€” parade start (10:00 AM)
  • Wall Street — Financial district core, peak confetti zone
  • Fulton & Vesey Streets — Midpoint, World Trade Center side streets
  • City Hall — Broadway at Chambers Street โ€” finish and ceremony

Because the cameras refresh as still images every few seconds rather than streaming full motion, the experience is closer to a rapid photo sequence than a TV broadcast โ€” but it lets you watch any specific block the moment the floats arrive. Switch to grid view to keep every camera on screen at once, or use favorites to pin the start, midpoint, and City Hall finish.

Road Closures and Getting Around

Expect heavy closures across Lower Manhattan from early morning. Broadway and the cross streets feeding it will shut down well before the 10:00 AM step-off, and surrounding avenues slow as traffic diverts.

Driving anywhere near Lower Broadway on parade morning is impractical. The MTA subway is the only reliable way in. Cross-reference our cameras with 511NY and NYPD event advisories for live closure updates, since road closures expand as crowds grow.

The simplest subway approaches: 4/5 to Bowling Green for the start, R/W to Whitehall or Cortlandt Street for the southern route, 1 to Rector or Cortlandt for mid-Broadway, and 2/3 to Park Place for the City Hall finish. City officials advised spectators to arrive at least two hours early because of security screening and barricades.

Pro Tip: Scout the Crowd Before You Go

Use the Broadway and Church Street cameras to check how packed each block is before you commit to a viewing spot โ€” or skip the crush entirely and watch the whole route from the cameras themselves. The City Hall end fills first; the Bowling Green start is often the last to reach capacity.

A Historic Canyon of Heroes Parade

Ticker-tape parades date to the impromptu celebration at the Statue of Liberty's dedication in 1886, when Wall Street brokerages emptied their stock-ticker paper out the windows over Broadway. The Knicks' run up that same canyon ends a 53-year championship drought stretching back to 1973 โ€” the longest wait of any New York sports parade on the route. The procession passes the same plaques that honor the city's Olympic teams, World Series winners, and Super Bowl champions, now adding a basketball title to the granite record.

NYC parade weeks reliably produce spectacle traffic, the same pattern we cover for the NYC Marathon, the NYC Pride parade, and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. For the broader picture of monitoring big gatherings, our guide to watching major events through traffic cameras walks through the approach, and the NYC traffic cameras guide and New York State guide cover the year-round 511NY and NYCDOT network.
