Øresund Bridge Live Cam: Real-Time Copenhagen to Malmö Monitoring
Track the only fixed link between Sweden and Continental Europe with live traffic feeds across the Øresund Bridge (E20). View Danish-side approaches from Kastrup, Swedish-side toll stations at Lernacken, and the connecting motorway corridors between Copenhagen and Malmö 24/7.
VIEW ØRESUND CAMERAS →The Øresund Bridge, or Öresundsbron, is a 16 km combined bridge-tunnel system that has linked Denmark and Sweden since it opened on July 1, 2000. An 8 km cable-stayed bridge carries the E20 motorway and a twin railway from Lernacken on the Swedish coast to the artificial island of Peberholm, where road and rail dive into the 4 km Drogden Tunnel before surfacing near Kastrup on Amager. The route is operated by Øresundsbro Konsortiet, a 50/50 company owned by the Danish and Swedish states.
In 2025 the bridge set an all-time traffic record with 8,003,000 vehicle crossings, an average of 21,925 vehicles per day, with electric vehicles accounting for roughly 18 percent of road traffic. TrafficVision aggregates feeds from Danish and Swedish road authorities so you can see queues at the toll plaza, weather on the high spans, and approach conditions on both the Danish E20 network and the Swedish E6/E20 corridor before you commit to the crossing.
Bridge Danish Side (Kastrup / Peberholm)
Monitor the western approach where E20 emerges from the Drogden Tunnel onto Peberholm island. Feeds cover the tunnel portals, Kastrup interchange, and the link to Copenhagen Airport and central Copenhagen.
Bridge Swedish Side (Lernacken / Malmö)
Watch the toll station at Lernacken where every vehicle entering Sweden passes through Swedish border control. Lernacken is the chokepoint when ID checks intensify. Approach feeds extend toward central Malmö and the Yttre Ringvägen ring road.
E20 Denmark Approach
Trace the Danish motorway feed from central Copenhagen and the Køge Bugt corridor toward Amager. Useful for spotting upstream incidents before they reach the bridge.
E6 / E20 Sweden Approach
Cover the E6/E20 spine between Malmö, Lund, and Helsingborg. This is the alternative routing when wind or incidents close the bridge and traffic diverts toward the Helsingør-Helsingborg ferry corridor.
Bridge and Tunnel Coverage
Feeds spanning the cable-stayed span, Peberholm island, and the Drogden Tunnel portals.
Border Plaza Visibility
See Lernacken toll and ID-check queues in real time before you arrive.
Wind and Weather Watch
Open the cameras when high-wind closures threaten high-sided vehicles on the exposed span.
Cross-Border Network
One map for Danish E20, Swedish E6/E20, and the ferry alternative at Helsingborg.

Strategic Mobility Across the Øresund
The Øresund link is the only fixed road and rail connection between Sweden and Continental Europe, which makes it disproportionately important for Nordic freight and commuter traffic. In 2025 the bridge averaged 21,925 vehicles per day, a 5.5 percent increase year over year, and truck traffic hit a record 605,900 crossings by trucks over nine metres. The first nine months of 2025 averaged 22,730 crossings per day, the highest level in the bridge's 25-year history.
When the bridge closes for high wind, an incident, or maintenance, Sweden-Denmark land traffic has to redirect either through the Helsingør-Helsingborg ferry at the narrow north of the strait, or all the way south through Germany via the Storebælt and Fehmarn corridors. A single closure can ripple across the entire Nordic-Continental freight network within hours, which is why upstream camera coverage matters.

OPEN INTERACTIVE MAP →Border Control and the Lernacken Chokepoint
Since 2024 Sweden has reinstated identity checks on entry from Denmark. Car traffic is checked at the Lernacken toll station on the Swedish side, while rail passengers are checked at Hyllie Station before continuing to Malmö Central. Checks are not always active but are common enough that commuters carry passport or national ID at all times. When checks intensify, Lernacken backs up onto the bridge deck, which is why watching the Swedish-side approach feeds is more useful than watching the Danish side.
Why the bridge turns into a tunnel
The Drogden Tunnel exists because a continuous bridge would have crossed the flight path into Copenhagen Airport at Kastrup and would have obstructed shipping traffic in the Flintrännan channel. Sinking the link into an immersed tube tunnel between Peberholm and Amager solved both problems at once.
Why Choose TrafficVision for the Øresund
TrafficVision aggregates Danish, Swedish, and pan-European feeds into one map. With 140,000+ cameras across 130+ countries, the Øresund corridor is covered alongside the wider Danish and Swedish road networks.

How much does it cost to drive across the Øresund Bridge?
The 2026 standard one-way toll for a passenger car is 470 DKK, rising to around 520 DKK in high season under the bridge's dynamic pricing. With an ØresundGO frequent-traveller contract the per-trip rate drops to 182 DKK on a 370 DKK annual fee. Toll gates accept DKK, SEK, EUR, and major credit cards.
Why does the bridge become a tunnel partway across?
A continuous high bridge would have intruded on the flight path into Copenhagen Airport and would have blocked the main shipping channel. The 4 km Drogden Tunnel between Peberholm island and Amager solves both constraints.
Are there ID checks at the bridge in 2026?
Yes. Sweden has carried out random border controls on entry from Denmark since 2024, and they remain in place in 2026. Car checks happen at the Lernacken toll station on the Swedish side. Rail checks happen at Hyllie Station. EU/EEA citizens need a valid passport or national ID card.
What are the alternatives if the bridge is closed?
The Helsingør-Helsingborg ferry at the north of the strait is the immediate alternative for cars. For long-haul freight the only land alternative is to route via Germany using the Storebælt bridge and the Fehmarn corridor, which adds significant time.
Is there a discount for daily commuters?
Yes. The ØresundGO contract (formerly BroPas) cuts the per-trip rate to 182 DKK on an annual subscription, which is the standard option for the thousands of cross-border commuters between Skåne and the Copenhagen region.
Is there a cost to use TrafficVision?
No. TrafficVision is a free service providing access to official public traffic feeds across 130+ countries.
