Live Cameras Around The O2 Arena
Monitor real-time traffic on the Blackwall Tunnel approach, the Silvertown Tunnel, and the North Greenwich streets before a concert, a comedy show, or an event at The O2. Since April 2025 both tunnels are tolled — a real change for anyone who used to drive here. Free 24/7.
VIEW O2 CAMERAS →The O2 opened as the Millennium Dome, ran a single year of exhibition through 2000, then sat largely empty until AEG reopened it as an entertainment district on 24 June 2007 with a Bon Jovi concert. It is now described as the busiest music venue in the world — in 2008 it exceeded the ticket sales of both Madison Square Garden and Manchester Arena.
The freehold belongs to the Greater London Authority; AEG holds the long-term lease.

The Tunnels Changed in April 2025 — Read This Before You Drive
This is the single most important recent change for anyone driving to The O2, and plenty of regulars still haven't caught up with it.
The Silvertown Tunnel opened to traffic on 7 April 2025 — a twin-bore road tunnel linking Silvertown on the north bank to North Greenwich on the south, surfacing effectively at The O2's doorstep.
From that same date, the Blackwall Tunnel stopped being free. Both tunnels have been charged since 7 April 2025.
How the charge works:
- Charged 06:00-22:00; free 22:00-06:00
- Peak = northbound 06:00-10:00 and southbound 16:00-19:00, weekdays only
- Off-peak at all other times and all weekend (the off-peak rate requires Auto Pay registration)
- Charges apply per crossing, in both directions
For a typical evening concert at The O2, you're arriving inside the charged window and leaving either just inside it or just after 22:00 when it drops off. That's a genuine planning consideration that did not exist before April 2025.
Note on rates: TfL's car rates have been £4.00 peak and £1.50 off-peak. A modest increase (to £4.20 and £1.55) was going through TfL's approval process during 2026 for introduction later in the year — check TfL's current published rate before you travel rather than trusting any figure you read second-hand, including this one.
Approach Corridors to The O2
Blackwall Tunnel
The classic approach cams
The historic route to North Greenwich from the north bank — and no longer free. Charged 06:00-22:00 since April 2025, with weekday peak rates northbound 06:00-10:00 and southbound 16:00-19:00.
Silvertown Tunnel
The new approach cams
Opened 7 April 2025, linking Silvertown to North Greenwich and surfacing right by The O2. Same charging structure as Blackwall.
North Greenwich peninsula
Local approach cams

Parking
The O2 runs four car parks with around 2,500 spaces:
- Car Park 1 — arena and indigo event parking, plus drop-off and pick-up
- Car Parks 2-4 — non-event use (cinema, shops, restaurants, Up at The O2)
| Option | Rate |
|---|---|
| Early-bird pre-book (until 3 weeks out) | £29.39 |
| Standard pre-book | £35.28 |
| Pay on the day | £40 |
| Valet (arena events only) | £75 pre-booked / £85 on the day |
Pre-booking closes 24 hours before an event. Blue Badge spaces are available in all car parks, and BP Pulse EV charging is on site.
The venue's own warning is worth repeating: major roadworks in the surrounding area are significantly affecting traffic flow — allow additional journey time.

VIEW LIVE CAMS →Transit — Four Genuinely Different Options
The O2 has an unusually varied transit menu for a London venue:
- North Greenwich station (Jubilee line) — the workhorse, a short walk from the entrance
- London Cable Car (formerly Emirates Air Line / IFS Cloud) — crosses the Thames to the Royal Docks
- Thames Clippers RB1/RB2 — river bus services, genuinely pleasant and completely immune to road congestion
- Buses — 108, 129, 132, 161, 188, 335, 422, 472, 486
Given the tunnel charges and the roadworks, the Jubilee line is the default and the river bus is the underrated option.

BUILD YOUR ROUTE →What The O2 Hosts
Beyond the 20,000-capacity arena, the site includes indigo at The O2 (a smaller music club), a Cineworld cinema, a bowling alley, exhibition space, and a full dining and retail district. Up at The O2 lets visitors climb over the roof.
Historically it hosted 2012 Olympic and Paralympic events, the ATP World Tour Finals tennis, and NBA London games. Its core business, though, is concerts — at a volume that has made it the busiest music venue in the world.
Weather and Event Timing
The O2 is fully enclosed, so weather never affects the show. It affects the journey. Wet conditions slow the Blackwall and Silvertown approaches, and the peninsula's roadworks compound it. The Thames Clipper is the one option genuinely insulated from road conditions — though it has its own weather considerations.
The live camera feeds show current road-surface conditions in real time.

Are there live traffic cameras near The O2 Arena?
Yes. TrafficVision aggregates feeds from Transport for London covering the Blackwall Tunnel approach, the Silvertown Tunnel, and the southeast London arterials feeding the North Greenwich peninsula. All 1,200+ London-area cameras are free to view with no account required.
Is the Blackwall Tunnel still free?
No. Since 7 April 2025 — the day the Silvertown Tunnel opened — both the Blackwall and Silvertown Tunnels have been charged. Charges apply 06:00 to 22:00 and are free 22:00 to 06:00. Peak rates apply northbound 06:00-10:00 and southbound 16:00-19:00 on weekdays only; everything else is off-peak, including all weekend (the off-peak rate requires Auto Pay registration). Charges apply per crossing in both directions. Check TfL's current published rate before travelling.
How much is parking at The O2?
The O2 runs four car parks with around 2,500 spaces. Car Park 1 handles arena and indigo event parking plus drop-off and pick-up; Car Parks 2-4 are for non-event use. Event rates run £29.39 for early-bird pre-booking (until three weeks out), £35.28 standard pre-book, and £40 pay-on-the-day. Valet is £75 pre-booked or £85 on the day, arena events only. Pre-booking closes 24 hours before an event. Blue Badge spaces are available in all car parks, and BP Pulse EV charging is on site.
What is the best way to get to The O2?
North Greenwich station on the Jubilee line is the default — a short walk from the entrance. But The O2 has an unusually varied menu: the London Cable Car crosses the Thames to the Royal Docks, Thames Clippers RB1 and RB2 river buses are completely immune to road congestion, and buses 108, 129, 132, 161, 188, 335, 422, 472, and 486 serve the peninsula. Given the tunnel charges since April 2025 and the venue's own warning about major surrounding roadworks, transit is the easier call.
When did The O2 open?
The building opened as the Millennium Dome, which ran an exhibition from 1 January to 31 December 2000. It reopened as The O2 entertainment district on 24 June 2007, with an opening concert by Bon Jovi. The freehold is owned by the Greater London Authority; AEG holds the long-term lease. It is now described as the busiest music venue in the world — in 2008 it exceeded the ticket sales of both Madison Square Garden and Manchester Arena.
