New York Comic Con and the Rest of the Calendar

New York Comic Con is the marquee public event, held every October and drawing over 250,000 attendees across its four-day run in 2025, with the show generating an estimated $35 million boost to the city's economy (BusinessMirror; RX Global). The 2025 edition added a revamped 45,000-square-foot River Pavilion with separate press and content-creator lounges and two additional programming stages. Crowds typically peak on Saturday, and attendees should budget extra time for security checkpoints before panels (Fox 5 NY).

Beyond NYCC, the Javits Center runs a packed year-round calendar: the New York International Auto Show returns for its 2026 edition April 3-12 (CBS New York), alongside Anime NYC, the New York Boat Show, NY NOW, and Toy Fair NY. Each of these draws its own load-in and load-out traffic on 11th Avenue in the days surrounding the public dates, on top of the West Side Highway's normal commuter volume.

Getting There Without a Car

The Javits Center sits a short walk from the 34 St-Hudson Yards subway station (7 train), the closest stop to the main entrance (NYC Tourism). The 34 St-Penn Station complex (A/C/E lines plus the Long Island Rail Road) is a longer walk further east and works as a backup option for attendees already routing through Penn Station. The MTA's M34-SBS and M34A-SBS Select Bus Service routes run crosstown with a stop directly at the Javits Center, and the M42, M50, M12, and M11 buses also serve the area (MTA).

Given how far the venue sits from most of the subway network, transit-first planning is genuinely the standard approach here rather than driving. The Javits Center's own visitor guidance leads with the 7 train rather than parking information.

Parking

The Javits Center does not operate its own on-site public parking garage. Attendees typically use one of several commercial garages within walking distance along 11th and 12th Avenues in the West 30s and 40s; the Center does not publish a standing rate sheet, so check individual garage operators directly for current pricing before a major show. Given the lack of on-site parking and the area's dense commercial-garage pricing, most regular visitors default to the 7 train or a bus route instead.

Getting There by Air

All three New York-area airports connect to the Javits Center with a transit leg into Manhattan followed by the 7 train or a crosstown bus: LaGuardia via the free Q70 Select Bus Service to the 7 train, JFK via the AirTrain to the subway system, and Newark via AirTrain Newark and NJ Transit into Penn Station. None of the three airports has a single-seat ride directly to the Javits Center, so build in time for the connection regardless of which one you're using.
